The Cooley Peninsula is a gift for cycling. Starting off in Medieval Carlingford village you can set off in many directions, try the new Carlingford Greenway to Omeath, cycle down to Greenore and catch the ferry on the hour every hour to Greencastle. Its 95% flat and a round trip to Omeath takes around 2 hours, its approx 14km total. Our 3 hour hire time is perfect so you can stop and have a coffee and break in Omeath. Ask our local staff about trying the less known but equally stunning Balagan loop. Stop off in Kilwirra, the ruins of the church where the Knights Templar set up upon arrival in the peninsula. Stop in the beautiful Lily Finnegans for a refreshments, voted #1 pub in Louth. Upgrade to our amazing Ebikes and take on the Cooley hills effortlessly! Electric Bikes are life changing, still the exercise but a little help for those hills and distances.
